China’s Semiconductor Threats to US Military

The supply chain for Chinese semiconductors has been reported to be unreliable, and there are other reasons why the US military cannot rely on them. Stopping the US Military’s purchase of microprocessors from corporations that collaborate with the Chinese Communist Party is one of the highest priorities for national security (CCP). Sens. John Cornyn, RTX, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer are proposing an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would appear to accomplish this.

The nations that possess the most cutting-edge semiconductors are more powerful economically and militarily. Without them, most contemporary weapons are ineffective. The computer power of contemporary warfare systems is the most crucial element.

Chinese officials believe that dominating the West in the manufacture of microprocessors is the key to their success. The goal of the CCP policy is to reduce China’s reliance on other nations in crucial economic sectors while increasing China’s dependency on the rest of the globe. The Chinese government claims that they have been investing billions of dollars to increase global reliance on PRC chip supplies while reducing domestic dependency on foreign chips.
